A reminder

Please note: due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, we are not able to book any new ceremonies at the moment. Please check back to this page at the end of May 2020 for an update.

It is with enormous regret that we have to inform you that, in response to this unprecedented public health crisis, and in line with the government’s advice on public gatherings, we are no longer taking any new ceremony bookings.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and heed government advice with the focus being on maintaining the health and safety of our staff and the public, and returning to full service when safe to do so.

Please check this page again in June 2020 when we may have more information.

If you have already booked your ceremony for summer 2020 and you have not spoken to a member of our staff, please email registrars@islington.gov.uk to discuss your options.

Again, we are very sorry to be taking this step, but the health of you, your guests, and our staff are our highest priority.

Renewal of Vows

These ceremonies give couples who have already contracted a marriage or civil partnership the chance to celebrate and renew their vows in a special and personal way.

Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a special way of celebrating the birth and naming of a child or to welcome an adopted child into the family.

Both renewal of vows and naming ceremonies are celebratory ceremonies only and have no legal status.
